Senior Private Client Advisor in Connecticut office.
NORWALK, CONN — Wilmington Trust hired John Barrett as managing director and senior private client advisor for the firm’s Norwalk, Conn. office. In this role, Barrett will provide comprehensive wealth management advice to high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, business owners, foundations and endowments. He will focus on clients in Connecticut, Westchester County, and New York City.
“We are pleased to add someone with John’s breadth of experience with business development and relationship management in this market,” said Larry Gore, Wilmington Trust’s Northeast Region president.
Barrett joins Wilmington Trust with 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Most recently, he was private client advisor with U.S. Trust in New York. Previously, he was managing director with First Republic Bank, and held positions at TD Bank Wealth Management and JP Morgan Chase Private Bank.

Barrett earned his degree from Iona College. He also is a Certified Financial Planner™.
He was named one of Private Asset Management magazine’s “Rising Stars” in 2013. He also is involved with Orphan’s Heroes, a not-for-profit organization that provides education, housing, and support to children who have been orphaned and abused.
