Mackey Hughes is responsible for leading the company’s national business strategy and market development in the endowment and foundation marketplace. He is part of a dedicated advisory team working closely with endowments, foundations, and other nonprofit organizations to help them achieve their investment and philanthropic objectives while also presenting the company’s full array of investment, fiduciary, and custody capabilities to clients.
Hughes joined Wilmington Trust from Camden Partners, LLC, a Baltimore-based private equity firm in which Wilmington Trust owns a minority stake. During his tenure with the firm, he was the business development partner responsible for delivering diversified, private equity fund-of-funds portfolios to high-net-worth individuals, endowments, foundations, pension funds, family offices, and others. Before his five-year tenure at Camden, Hughes held senior positions over a 19-year period with Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown. These positions included head of sales management and business development, managing director of the Baltimore and Los Angeles offices, and managing director of the real estate group.
Hughes holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
