Diverse list of 50 women including Melinda Gates, Christine Lagarde and Sarah Thomas are Named as the Most Influential Women of our Time
MARCH 6, 2020--NEW YORK, NEW YORK Wilmington Trust announced that Alvina Lo, Chief Wealth Strategist, has been named one of the 50 Women Changing the World in Worth Media’s Groundbreakers 2020. Worth magazine’s prestigious list of “Groundbreakers 2020: 50 Women Changing the World,” published on February 18, includes European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde; Melinda Gates of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and Sarah Thomas, the first female official with the NFL and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team.
As highlighted in the magazine, “Lo is one of very few Asian American women who’ve made it to the post of chief wealth strategist.” She joined Wilmington Trust in 2018 and oversees a national team of strategists, financial planners, and thought leaders who advise wealthy individuals and families, business owners and entrepreneurs, foundations and endowments. She appears regularly in the media and at industry conferences, speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. She holds both a JD from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the Law Review and Order of the Coif, and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Virginia, where she was a Thomas Jefferson scholar.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Alvina was the director and senior wealth planner for Citi Private Bank where she served as an advisor to U.S. and international ultra-high-net-worth clients. Previously, she served as a wealth strategist with Credit Suisse Private Wealth and managed the third-party trustee platform. Earlier in her career, Alvina practiced law at Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, LLP in the Trusts & Estates group and served as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting and Scient Corporation.
