Radnor, PA – January 28, 2021 – Wilmington Trust announced today that Don DiCarlo, senior vice president and chief planning officer, has been elected as a Fellow to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
According to ACTEC, to qualify for membership, lawyers and law professors are elected to be Fellows based on their experience, reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field through lecturing, writing, teaching, and participating in bar leadership or legislative activities. It is the aim of each elected Fellow to improve and reform probate, trust and tax laws, procedures, and professional responsibility. ACTEC shares that its Fellows are talented estate and trust lawyers from around the world, the best and brightest in the trust and estate practice, with years of experience representing and advising families. Their goals are serving clients, helping the profession, and informing the public.
“Don has demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and expertise in all aspects of wealth planning. Our clients benefit enormously from his knowledge, integrity, and commitment to fostering deep, meaningful relationships. His passion for helping others with often complex and sophisticated financial, tax, and estate planning needs is unsurpassed,” said Doris Meister, head of wealth management. “The election as an ACTEC Fellow not only underscores his value to our clients but also in the industry. We are so proud to have him as part of our leadership team, and as a member of the Wilmington Trust and M&T Bank family.”
Don currently serves as the chief planning officer for Wilmington Trust and is the leader of its Emerald Advisory Services®, which provides strategic wealth planning and family office services to successful business owners, executives, and their families.
Don has been very engaged in legal education throughout his career. He has taught estate planning related courses at Philadelphia area law schools for over 15 years and is currently an adjunct professor at Drexel University’s Kline School of Law. He is also a frequent lecturer for the American Law Institute, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and other professional associations.
