Wilmington Trust Continues Expansion of Capital Markets Services

Wilmington Trust, a leading provider of institutional trustee, agency, and administrative services through its Institutional Client Services (ICS) business, has acquired two new capital markets professionals, Heather Kelly and Aaron Soper, to provide enhanced services and solutions that meet the growing demand within the merger and acquisition market.

“We welcome Heather and Aaron to our team of capital markets professionals,” said Jack Beeson, senior vice president and head of the Global Capital Markets Group. “Their expertise strengthens and complements our capital markets team and allows us to continue to grow our agency and trust service capabilities nationally. This includes expansion of our merger and acquisition practice to include escrow, paying, and exchange agent capabilities.”

During the past year, Wilmington Trust has expanded its capital markets services to clients by adding highly experienced professionals specializing in the following key areas and specialty transactions:

  •  Traditional corporate trust and agency services for corporate escrows
  •  Corporate debt
  •   Municipal debt
  •   Life settlement
  •   Premium finance programs

Wilmington Trust also recently established new offices in California and Texas.

Soper and Kelly will be based in the company’s Minneapolis office.

Kelly, vice president, brings more than a decade of experience in sales, client management, and product development to her role at Wilmington Trust. Most recently she served as vice president and national product manager for Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.’s merger and acquisition escrow and payment services product. She holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern College.

Soper, vice president, joins Wilmington Trust with more than seven years of corporate trust experience, specializing in private market merger and acquisition escrow and payment transactions. Most recently, he served as vice president within the corporate, municipal, and escrow services of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. Earlier in his career, he worked for U.S. Bank in corporate trust and escrow services. Soper earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of North Dakota.
