Senior Portfolio Manager
BOSTON — Wilmington Trust added a new senior private client fiduciary advisor and a senior portfolio manager in its Boston Wealth Advisory office. David Ely was hired as senior portfolio manager, and Steven Conway as senior private client fiduciary advisor.

STEVEN CONWAY
As a senior private client fiduciary advisor, Conway specializes in tax, wealth management, estate planning, financial, and fiduciary services for high-net-worth individuals and families, executives, and closely-held businesses. He works closely with clients and their advisors to structure strategies to help meet their current financial needs and plan for longer term goals.
 
Before joining Wilmington Trust, Conway practiced law in Massachusetts at a trusts and estates practice group. He has extensive experience advising clients on estate planning strategies, general corporate and business succession matters, tax, retirement, and charitable planning.
 
Prior to his legal career, Conway worked as a tax consultant at a Big Four firm. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and lectures frequently on estate planning, tax, and philanthropy topics.
 
Conway earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Suffolk University Law School, a master’s degree in taxation from Bentley College, and a bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University. He is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, and is involved with the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

DAVID ELY
As a senior portfolio manager, Ely is responsible for developing customized investment portfolios for his clients based on their unique parameters for risk, return, liquidity, and other factors. He monitors and periodically rebalances client portfolios to meet evolving needs and to take advantage of new investment opportunities.
 
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Ely was a senior portfolio manager in the Investment Solutions Group at State Street Global Advisors. He was the investment team leader for the portfolio management team dedicated to the company’s Charitable Asset Management Group. Previously, he worked for Salomon Smith Barney’s Private Client Group.
 
Ely received a master’s degree in finance from Northeastern University, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst™ designation.
 
He is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, as well as the CFA Institute. He is also a board member of the American Council on Gift Annuities.
