BUFFALO, NY—Wilmington Trust added two new senior advisors to its wealth management team in Buffalo, N.Y. Carol Stymiest was hired as a wealth investment advisor, and Thomas Waters joins as a senior private client advisor. Both are based in the Wilmington Trust offices at One Fountain Plaza in downtown Buffalo.

“As we continue to expand our wealth management team in Buffalo and other regions, we are fortunate to bring on experienced, knowledgeable talent like Carol and Tom,” said Patricia Farrell, managing director of Wilmington Trust’s Wealth Advisory services for the Buffalo and Rochester markets. “Working in tandem with the rest of our wealth team in the region, Carol and Tom will utilize their deep tenure in the wealth and investment management industry to help our clients achieve their financial goals.”
As wealth investment advisor, Stymiest is responsible for developing customized investment portfolios for clients based on their unique parameters for risk, return, liquidity, and other factors. She structures diversified portfolios in keeping with clients’ asset allocation plans, and periodically rebalances portfolios to reflect clients’ evolving needs and new investment opportunities.
Before joining Wilmington Trust, Stymiest worked at First Citizens Bank in North Carolina as a portfolio strategist responsible for managing portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and institutions. With more than 20 years in the financial industry, she began her investment career at Royal Bank of Canada as an investment advisor and retirement planner, and has worked at Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor.
She earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Waterloo. She is the past president of the Greater Triangle Chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade, as well as the past president and founder of the Canadian Business Association of North Carolina.
