BOSTON — Wilmington Trust added a new senior private client advisor and senior private banker to the staff of their Boston Wealth Advisory office. Julie Barron was hired as senior private banker, and Salma Haikal as senior private client advisor.

JULIE BARRON
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Barron held senior positions at Fiduciary Trust and J.P. Morgan Private Bank involving private banking, business development, and wealth management in the ultra-high-net-worth space. She also served as senior vice president at Brown Brothers Harriman in the Banking and M&A Advisory Group, as well as the Investor Services Division. Earlier in her career, Barron was employed by Citizens Bank for 17 years, where she served as division executive and group head for Private Banking, as well as other leadership roles in both Corporate and Middle Market banking.
 
In her role as senior private banker, Barron is responsible for serving the financial needs of high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners throughout New England. She provides strategic advice, personalized service, and access to banking and lending solutions to her clients, including tailored credit solutions, premium deposit accounts and cash management services, residential mortgages and home equity lines of credit, and yacht and aircraft financing.
 
Barron earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston College. She is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council, the New England Chapter of the Exit Planning Exchange, the M&A Club of Boston, and the Boston College Club. She also serves on the board of ambassadors of the Steppingstone Foundation, and the board of mentors with Community Servings.
 
She has been a guest lecturer at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management Graduate Program and Boston University’s Undergraduate School of Management on corporate banking topics.

SALMA HAIKAL 
Haikal has nearly two decades of extensive experience in personal financial services to ultra-high-net-worth families and their advisors. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, she was senior vice president with U.S. Trust Private Wealth Management. Her broad experience also includes 12 years of international private banking with the Bank of Boston, where she provided financial and credit solutions to some of the wealthiest families in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Europe, and the Middle East.

As senior private client advisor, Haikal provides wealth management advice to high-net-worth individuals and families, entrepreneurs, business owners, and foundations and endowments throughout the Boston area. She works closely with clients and their advisors to develop financial strategies to help clients meet their current needs and plan for their long-term objectives.

Haikal earned a bachelor’s degree from Simmons College with majors in international management, Spanish, and French. She is fluent in English, Arabic, Spanish, and French. She is also a licensed real estate representative in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

She is active in the community serving as a volunteer for various not-for-profit organizations throughout the greater Boston area, the South Shore, Cape, and Islands.
