Deb Daniello

Deb Daniello has been hired as a senior relationship manager in Wilmington Trust’s Global Capital Markets group.
Wilmington Trust is expanding its corporate trust business with three strategic hires. Julie Balerna, Clay Cardozo, and Deb Daniello have joined the firm’s Boston office. The three most recently worked as a team at BNY Mellon.
 
“The addition of this A-team to our corporate trust group is a big score,” said Jack Beeson, head of Wilmington Trust’s Global Capital Markets Group. “This team already has a long and successful track record in the New England region. We’re eager to utilize and build on their experience as we continue growing our corporate trust business across the U.S.”
 
“We look at the New England market as thriving, and a region in which we want to compete and deliver our successful single point of contact model,” added Rob Brown, group leader for Wilmington’s Public Finance and Agency Group.
 
Julie Balerna
Balerna has been hired to manage sales and business development for Global Capital Markets in the New England region. She will cover both corporate and public finance markets, including municipal, higher education, housing, and health care. She will also leverage her experience in the region by teaming up with Robert Weiss, Wilmington Trust’s East Coast corporate escrow sales leader.
 
For the past decade she worked as vice president of business development for BNY Mellon’s Corporate Trust division. Balerna also worked at U.S. Bank and State Street Bank in similar roles.
 
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Brown University, and is active in the school’s alumni association. Balerna also serves on the board of Boston Women in Public Finance, a professional networking and educational organization for women working in municipal finance in the New England region.

Clay Cardozo
Cardozo joins Wilmington Trust in his new role as a regional manager for Global Capital Markets. He will be responsible for managing relationships, planning, strategy, product development, and risk management for the New England market. He was previously employed by BNY Mellon for nearly 18 years. His most recent role was vice president and senior relationship manager, covering several of the largest issuers in the Northeast.
 
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Deb Daniello
Daniello has been hired as a senior relationship manager in Wilmington Trust’s Global Capital Markets group, and will be responsible for growing and maintaining business with corporate trust and escrow clients in the New England region. Deb has over 20 years of corporate trust experience and was previously employed by BNY Mellon as vice president and senior transaction manager.
 
Daniello earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island, and is accredited as a Certified Corporate Trust Specialist by the American Bankers Association’s Institute of Certified Bankers.
